Crunchyroll, the leading anime streaming service owned by Sony, has made its debut in the U.S. streaming bundle market by partnering with Starz. This new package, which became available on Wednesday, is priced at $17 per month, providing access to both platforms.
Customers can take advantage of significant savings, as the individual subscriptions for Crunchyroll and Starz would typically amount to $22 per month—$10 for Crunchyroll and $12 for Starz—resulting in a 23% discount with this new bundle.
The collaboration is designed to offer viewers an engaging mix of content, including premium action series, anime, thrillers, female-led dramas, sci-fi, and adventure films. “This offering brings together two services with distinctive programming, giving viewers access to a range of stories and genres,” stated Alison Hoffman, president of Starz Networks, in an official announcement.
Those interested in the bundle can easily subscribe through Prime Video. Existing Prime Video members can log into their accounts, locate the Starz-Crunchyroll bundle, and follow the steps to complete the transaction.
Terry Li, Crunchyroll’s chief product officer, emphasized the importance of accessibility, saying, “At Crunchyroll, we believe anime is a powerful medium for storytelling and connection, and our goal is to continue bringing it to more audiences in more accessible ways.”
Subscribers to this bundle will gain access to popular Starz programming, including the Power Universe series, with the highly anticipated series finale of Power Book III: Raising Kanan set to release on August 7. Additionally, viewers can look forward to S.W.A.T. Exiles, a crime-drama spinoff premiering on September 25, and the latest entry in the Outlander series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, launching on September 18.
Starz also has an impressive lineup of films, such as the exclusive premiere of the Michael Jackson biopic, which will be available starting August 10. Notable movie releases also include Sydney Sweeney’s The Housemaid and Shelter, featuring Jason Statham.
As the largest anime streaming platform globally, Crunchyroll boasts over 21 million subscribers, serving up beloved titles like Dragon Ball, Naruto, Afro Samurai, My Hero Academia, and Cowboy Bebop. This bundle marks Crunchyroll’s first foray into bundled offerings, while Starz is also available through a different bundle with Hallmark Plus on Prime Video for $14 per month. Additionally, Peacock provides Starz as an add-on subscription directly within its app, although it is not a bundle.
