But we are still in early February – and two months is a long time. So, not to leave you with nothing in this period, we went to hunt information on the gringo websites and found some interesting statements by the company’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa.
In one of them, the boss of the company gave clues to the price of the new product.
How much will the new switch cost?
- Furukawa did not give a specific value, but indicated that the new console should be a little more expensive than the previous version.
- During a questions and answers session after the third quarter financial results, he said fans should be aware of global economic factors.
- According to him, Nintendo needs to take into account the increase in the inflation rate in Japan.
- Not to mention that the currency environment has changed considerably since the release of the 1st Switch in 2017.
- Remembering that, at that time, the console was initially sold at US $ 299 in the international market and R $ 2,999 here in Brazil.
- We can expect, therefore, a slightly more salty value now.
- A little more, but not much.
- In this same question session, Furukawa also said that Nintendo will consider “the accessibility that our customers expect from brand products.”
- The definitive answer should come out even on April 2.
- Mark on the agenda: Nintendo Direct will start at 10 am, in Brasília time.
What we know about switch 2
The cool thing about this trailer is that it shows that the new console will have the same face as its predecessor, but with significant changes.
The first of these is the size: the video demonstrates how the Switch 2 will be higher-both on the screen (probably OLED) as well as the Joy-Con controls.
Still speaking of the controls, another difference is that the inaugural version should rely on the devices in black – not red and blue. I could also see that the Joy-Cons will connect to the screen (magneticly) and the console-retiring the slide function to fit.
At the top of Switch 2, there is a new USB-C door, as well as several other new and mysterious buttons (for example the one on the right side of the control).
Finally, the support (Kickstand) also has new design, with more similar format to the letter U, and the Switch 2 dock has a more rounded design.
The trailer makes it clear that the new generation console should come out with a new Mario Kart crawled. You can see more games already confirmed for Switch 2 in this other text from Digital Look.
