However, by the end of 2024, the company officialized that it would begin to release it to partner devices. At the time, the company revealed a new seal “Powered by Steamos” with the following words in free translation:
“The Powered by SteaMos logo indicates that a hardware device will run and enter the system when turned on. Partners and manufacturers will send hardware with a Steam image in the form offered and/or developed in a nearby collaboration with Valve.”
In addition, in March this year the operating system received an update, which was accompanied by initial compatibility to other portable consoles besides Steam Deck. Is it possible to install Stea on other portable consoles besides Steam Deck?
As already said in this text, Valve had already announced that it would begin to release Stea to other portable consoles.
However, even before that, in early 2024, Ayaneo, Chinese portable company for games and mini PCs, announced the first product to run the Steamos operating system, Next Lite. It was presented as a great cost-effective equipment option for those who want to have a portable PC running Steamos.

In addition, in early 2025, it was announced that Legion GO S, which is part of the second generation of Legion GO portable consoles, is equipped with Steamos. Through it, the device can save the progress of cloud games, giving greater integration with PCs.
However, the system is not yet officially released on other important consoles, such as Asus Rog Ally. In it, the Stea 3.8 is already running, but its installation is only possible in an unofficial way in the model with AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor.
However, tests performed by Youtuber The Phawxfamous for its handheld technical content, showed that the system in the Vanilla (basic) version, despite having a proper functioning, does not yet make Asus laptop better than Steam Deck in performance, especially in relation to thermal control and energy efficiency.

Another portable console that runs through the bazzites – an open source linux distribution developed as an alternative to Valve Stea 3 – is Ayaneo 2, which performs well with the system.
In it, there is a possibility of installing the system through Chimeraos, a distro that was also made to run Stea in other equipment. Although most of the portable consoles mentioned has not yet officially stea, it is likely that in the near future it will happen, as it is one of the main goals of Valve.
