Earlier this year, he said he was “a big fan of portable devices,” after enjoying the X posts that mentioned the possibility of this new hardware. Now, in an interview with IGN, Spencer said, “I think we should also have a portable device.”
Despite the rumors and signs that Microsoft had been working on a portable video game, Spencer’s latest statement is the biggest tip that has ever been given until the release can actually happen.
“The future for us in hardware is amazing. I am extremely excited about the work that the team is doing around different formats and ways to play, ”added Spencer.
Pressed on whether an Xbox laptop would broadcast games or play them locally, Spencer gave another tip that Microsoft is planning a true portable device to play locally.
“I like my Rog Ally, my Lenovo Legion Go, my Steam Deck. I think being able to play locally is very important, ”said Spencer.
Portable Xbox can be based on Windows
- Earlier this year, Spencer talked about wanting a compact Xbox mode on a portable gamer PC.
- There is no confirmation about what Microsoft plans, but it may be a sign that an Xbox laptop would have Windows -based system.
