Nintendo published its first video about Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday (16), with the estimate of when it plans to launch the console
Nintendo promises to share more details at the event Nintendo Directscheduled for April 2, 2025. With this Thursday’s announcement, the event is expected to be focused on Nintendo Switch 2.

The console looks like the original, but is larger (which confirms characteristics advanced by the replica shown in CES 2025). Details shown in the video that is worth mentioning:
- Joy-Con controllers are black with colorful details and Fixed to the consoleinstead of sliding out and inward;
- Joy-Con controllers seem to be used in a way mouse;
- Joy-Con SL and SR buttons are bigger than in the original switch.
- In upper Switch 2, there is a New USB-C port;
- There is one New button below the home button on Joy-Con right (had also appeared in leaks).
- Support (kickstand) also has new designwith shape more like the letter U;
- Switch 2 dock has more rounded design.
Just like in the original switch, there will also be a separate control for controlin which you can fit the Joy-Cons.

The only game shown in the video is what seems to be a new title of the Mario Kart franchise. But it is already worth adding that the New console will be compatible with Nintendo Switch physical and digital games.
- However, the video warns that “Certain Nintendo Switch games may not be compatible or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2“.
