However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) also took center stage with critical updates that fans have been eagerly awaiting.

Revelation of the X-Men Cast
Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, took the stage alongside actress Sadie Sink to unveil the cast for the upcoming X-Men film. Sink will portray Jean Grey, a role she previously hinted at in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The ensemble cast includes Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm.
In a surprise appearance, Adam Driver joined via video to tease his role as Magneto, only to later clarify that he would actually be portraying Nathaniel Milbury, also recognized as the X-Men villain Mr. Sinister. The anticipation surrounding the character of Storm has been particularly intense, given her storied history within the Marvel universe. Storm has had significant interactions with both the X-Men and the Avengers, adding to the excitement of her introduction into the MCU.
With her rich narrative history, once Storm is integrated into the MCU, fans can expect her to appear across a variety of films, including the confirmed crossover event, Doomsday. The X-Men film is scheduled for release on May 5, 2028.
Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Previewed
During the presentation, Feige was joined by iconic actors Robert Downey Jr. (as Victor Von Doom), Chris Evans (returning as Steve Rogers), and Hayley Atwell (portraying Peggy Carter) to introduce the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. The film promises to feature not just the Avengers, but also the Fantastic Four and the original X-Men.
The trailer showcased action-packed scenes, including Victor Von Doom effortlessly battling Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth. It culminated with a dramatic moment featuring Doctor Doom summoning massive Sentinel robots—foes frequently encountered by the X-Men in various storylines.
Audiences were treated to glimpses of Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellan (Magneto), and Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), along with a humorous scene involving Rogers holding a baby. Hugh Jackman also made an appearance via video, humorously pleading with Feige to include Wolverine in the film, though it remains unclear if that will materialize.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18.
VisionQuest Trailer Released
In addition to the film announcements, Feige and actors Paul Bettany and James Spader revealed the trailer for VisionQuest, a new series that promises to delve deeper into the character of Vision. The trailer opens with Vision discovering a heart carved into a table, prompting questions about his identity and humanity after his reanimation.
Vision is seen reflecting on past memories, including his interactions with his children, Billy and Tommy Maximoff, who were last featured in Agatha All Along. Bettany hinted at the overarching theme of the series, stating, “In the Marvel universe, no one is ever really dead. What, or perhaps who, is he exactly? And what is it that makes us human?”
VisionQuest is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus on October 14.
